Frigidaire Recalls Clothes Washers Due to Fire HazardJuly 30, 2009 Frigidaire issued a recall on July 30 for some of its Crosley®, Frigidaire®, Kenmore®, and White-Westinghouse® brand clothes washers, which sold across Canada in 2009, due to an internal defect in the washer's drain pump which could lead to a fire hazard. No injuries or incidents have been reported to Frigidaire or Health Canada so far. Top and front load washing machines, along with laundry centers, are affected by the recall. The recall involves the following brands: Crosley®, Frigidaire®, Kenmore®, and White-Westinghouse® top load washers, 3.1 cubic foot front load washers, and laundry centers. Check the table below to see the products, brands, model and serial numbers of the washers involved in the recall. The washers were sold from February 2009 to May 2009 at Sears, The Brick, as well as independent retailers across Canada. Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled washers and contact Frigidaire to schedule a free repair.
